FMS

Service overview

As an FMS provider, we make it easy for our clients to use self-directed services. Accra’s Financial Management Services enable people with long-term care needs or disabilities to easily hire and employ caregivers under the Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) program or the Consumer Support Grant (CSG). We can help directly employ support workers and purchase other supports needed to continue living in the community.

Accra supports people in fulfilling their responsibilities as a participant employer. We process employee timesheets, vendor payments, expense reimbursements, workers’ compensation enrollment, and federal and state tax filings.

Look through our program descriptions below to discover the ways Accra is helping Minnesotans live full lives:

Consumer Directed Community Services (CDCS) is a service option to people on the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) and Alternative Care (AC) programs. CDCS allows people to have flexibility and responsibility to self-direct their own services. Parents, spouses, family members, trusted neighbors or friends can be paid for services, as well as employees of traditional homecare provider agencies.

Consumer Support Grants (CSG) is a state funded alternative to Medicaid homecare services such as personal care assistance (PCA), home health aide and private duty nursing. The CSG program gives people greater flexibility and freedom of choice in service selection, payment rates, service delivery specifications and employment of service providers. Parents, spouses, family members, trusted neighbors or friends can be paid for services, as well as employees of traditional homecare provider agencies.

Accra’s Private Pay program allows people to buy home care services with their private dollars when they are not covered by health insurance or other payers. Individuals are responsible for finding their own employees and once they do, Accra will assist them with employee paperwork, record keeping and payroll duties.
