Accra Board of Directors Elects New Chair and Members

After 27 years as Accra’s Board Chairman, Bob Gordon retires from the Board

MINNETONKA, Minn. – Jan. 11, 2021 – Accra’s board of directors has elected Mark Heston as its chairperson, effective January 1, 2021. Heston succeeds Bob Gordon, who is retiring from the Board. The Board also elected Robin Brown and Mike Neill as new members. Accra is the largest nonprofit provider of homecare services in Minnesota.

“It has been a great pleasure to work for many years with Bob Gordon, and I am grateful to his commitment to the people we serve,” said John Dahm, president and chief executive officer of Accra.

“Bob served on Accra’s founding board. Today, Accra provides homecare services to more than 9,000 people with disabilities and older adults throughout Minnesota, helping them live fuller lives in their homes. Heston is the founder and CEO of Heston and Associates, a management consulting firm dedicated to helping its partners thrive through exceptional leadership and outstanding human capital management. Before founding Heston and Associates Consulting, Heston held leadership roles in banking, biotech/agriculture science, education, and municipal government, with the last 14 years as the Chief Human Resources Officer for a large senior living company. Heston is committed to serving the community and has served as a board member and officer of numerous not-for-profit organizations in Iowa and Minnesota.

Brown is the CIO for Cargill Protein North America. She has 25 years of IT experience in the agriculture, construction, healthcare, government, consulting, retail and financial sectors. Prior to Cargill, she was vice president and CIO at Mortenson Construction and held other senior leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, Accenture, Best Buy and Arcadia Financial. Brown is known for driving technology-enabled innovation, strategic business transformation, building global shared service capabilities, and transforming IT functions to be value-driven while fostering relationships between the Business, Operations and IT delivery.
