Mental Health Services
Accra is a nonprofit organization that provides individualized homecare and mental health services to people across Minnesota. We take all forms of insurance from private insurance to medical assistance.
Individual Therapy
At Accra, we provide individual therapy to adults, adolescents and children. Our professional clinicians come from many different fields of study including social work, psychology, and integrated behavioral health. The philosophy is to treat the individual in a person-centered way. Our clinicians work with the individual to collaborate on a treatment plan that fits with the goals of the specific person.
Our licensed therapists provide individual therapy for a variety of mental health issues or life concerns, including:
- Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality disorder
- Relationship issues
- Autism
- Obsessions and Compulsions
- Abuse/Trauma
- Gender Roles
- Working with families who have a child with special needs
- Employment concerns
- Chronic pain or illness
- Life Transitions
- Grief and loss
- Anger management
Accra provides in-person therapy at our Minneapolis, Duluth, Hibbing and Virginia clinics, and we offer virtual therapy via telehealth to clients throughout Minnesota.
Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)
Accra provides adult rehabilitative mental health services (ARMHS) to Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, St. Louis and Washington County residents. ARMHS help clients manage the symptoms of mental illness, develop independent living skills and lead a more fulfilling life at home. Supervised by mental health professionals, ARMHS practitioners teach clients how to connect with and leverage community resources and mental health services.
Our rehabilitative services help clients with:
- Household management, independent living and parenting skills
- Interpersonal communication
- Medication education and monitoring
- Relapse prevention
- Symptoms management skills
- Transitions to community living and employment-related transitions
Eligibility for ARMHS:
- The person must be at least 18 years old.
- The person must have a Diagnostic Assessment completed in the last year which recommends ARMHS.
- The person must be on Medical Assistance.

How to access services
For more information about our Individual Mental Health Counseling and ARMHS programs, or to set up services, please call your preferred location at the phone numbers listed above and ask to speak with our Mental Health department. Or you can email us at MentalHealthIntake@accracare.org.
After the initial call to arrange services, Accra will check insurance eligibility to confirm services are covered by your insurance. Then, our team will schedule an intake appointment for a diagnostic assessment with a mental health professional, who will assign you a counselor or an ARMHS worker as necessary and assist in determining any other service needs.
